Restorative Spaces
01
STRESS RELIEF
These spaces can reduce blood pressure and promote job stress recovery. Short afternoon naps also provide the opportunity for restoration which can lead to improvements in mood, alertness, and cognitive performance (such as productivity and learning). WELL v2 TM
03
IMPROVED WELL-BEING
Engaging in restorative activities on a day-to-day basis is linked to improved well-being. These spaces can have a positive impact on mental health.
02
SUPPORT FOCUS
As these spaces incorporate biophilic design practices (incorporation of nature and natural systems indoors), they provide opportunities for exposure to natural elements which has been shown to increase attentional capacity.
04
MULTI-PURPOSE
Provide quiet zones for naps, yoga, meditation and/or reading. These spaces can be indoor or outdoor as long as they are accessible year-round. Suggested minimum space of 75 sq.ft (plus 1 sq.ft per occupant).
